Long Term Care

Our long-term care program is designed for individuals who require ongoing care and assistance with their activities of daily living. Our compassionate team of nurses and caregivers implement the plan of care designed by our interdisciplinary team together with the resident and her family and overseen by the attending physician. The goal of the program is to assist our residents live a fulfilling and dignified life while maintaining their highest level of function.
The long-term care program also extends to other services that treat the resident’s medical conditions such as:

Short Term
Rehabilitation

Marshall Rehabilitation offers comprehensive rehabilitation services seven days a week, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. These services are designed to help individuals recover from illness, injury, or recent surgery that may have interrupted their lives. We customize each person’s plan of care to help them achieve and maintain their highest practicable level of functioning and maintain their dignity and independence. Our rehabilitation department provides individualized services for a wide variety of conditions including, but not limited to:
a. Hip/joint replacement
b. Amputation recovery
c. Neuromuscular disorders
d. Fracture care
e. Stroke recovery
f. Orthopedic surgery

Wound
Care

Our team-centered approach to wound care can dramatically reduce the time for your wound to heal and prevent potential complications associated with complex wounds. We work collaboratively with specialized wound care providers that improve outcomes, reduce pain, and prevent potential hospitalizations.

Secured Nursing
Unit

At Marshall Rehabilitation, we have a secured nursing unit ideal for residents with cognitive impairments including those who need dementia management. This unit is designed to engage and stimulate our residents, not simply distract them. Unlike other facilities which rely heavily on the use of sedative or antipsychotic medications, we use a resident-specific approach to formulate a plan of care designed specifically for each resident. And we ensure your loved one is cared for with the dignity they deserve.

Therapeutic
Recreation

At Marshall Rehabilitation we believe that activities is an essential part of our care delivery system. Research has shown that an active mind is a healthier mind and can greatly reduce the downward spiral of depression. There is a theory that when an individual becomes depressed he stops doing the activities he enjoys. Engaging in activities we find pleasurable and having fun infuses us with a new dose of energy, leading to engagement in more activities we enjoy and ultimately to an upward spiral out of depression.

In addition to feeling better, for most of us a structured day is also an accomplished day. A day we enjoy living and in which we find fulfillment. And when our daily tasks and errands no longer fill our days it is imperative that a structured schedule of activities is implemented to maintain a sense of joy and accomplishment as well as physical strength and capabilities. It also affords us the opportunity for socialization and to foster new relationships with our peers.

Marshall Rehabilitation’s recreation department uses these ideas as it’s guiding principles to develop and implement a creative recreation schedule tailored to the individual needs of our residents. And to ensure all our residents find happiness and fulfillment during their stay in our community.

Dietary

At Marshall Rehabilitation we are dedicated to providing nutritious, well-balance meals and snacks that are tasty and meet the dietary requirements of our residents. Our meals are also designed to promote quality of life and prevent malnutrition and weight loss.

Our menus are planned by a qualified dietician ensuring all residents receive their required daily caloric intake to meet their specific medical needs. Therapeutic diets such as renal and diabetic diets as well as food in appropriate consistencies are prepared in accordance with physician and dietician orders.
